ST. CRESPIN'S CHAPEL
Attenant at Notre-Dame-de-l 'Épine Basilica, of which it is one of the jewels, the chapel Saint-Crespin was built in the xiith century, probably upon returning from a crusade, near the abbatial church. In the thirteenth century, the two buildings were combined. It consists of a unique nef and a semi-circular abbey and houses the terracotta statues of the seventeenth century, several pieces of goldsmith, but also four tapestries related to the history of Abraham representing scenes from the Old Testament - think of Jacob, Loth and his daughters leaving Sodom., sacrifice of Abraham and Agar and Ismaël in the desert - and a very precious statue of Notre-Dame, a Virgin in oak of the thirteenth-century lamiith of money.
