CHOCOLATERIE-MUSÉE PUYODEBAT
Chocolate factory-museum with terrace, featuring a boutique with collections of unusual objects and a chocolate lounge on the 1st floor
Discover the origins of chocolate with great vintages in the Basque country, "savoir-faire", cocoa bean processing, marketing developments and collections of unusual objects from this artisan chocolate creator, whose initiative we salute. On display will be a series of mechanical and hydraulic cocoa bean grinding machines, chocolate stones and ganache processing tools. Documents and photos from the Fagalde and Noblia chocolate factories retrace the economic boom in this activity over 2 centuries in Cambo. A computer graphics display and a reconstructed cocoa tree help visitors to understand how these ready-to-eat sweets are processed and made. Collections of boxes, slogans and advertising objects reveal the evolution of customs and consumption patterns. Discover a fabulous collection of "trembleuses" and "moustache" cups, porcelain, copper, pewter and miniature chocolatiers... You'll taste great vintages like great wines and chocolate creations, and discover the chocolate wall/cascade. In the boutique, you'll find all the must-have creations: mendiants, rocailles, grand cru chocolates, tablettes, craquinettes and more. And now, ice cream tasting on the terrace. Created in 2009, this museum continues to attract great interest from the public. The new concept also includes boutiques in Bayonne (with a chocolate lounge on the1st floor) and Biarritz.
