WOOD-THIBAULT CASTLE AND WOOD-FROU CASTLE
If Lassay-les-Châteaux bears such a name, there are several castles on the commune! The other two castles in Lassay are not in good condition. From Bois-Frou, located in a field near the road, left on the road to Domfront (D 117), right after the village exit, there is only one porch left. Bois-Thibault, however, although severely deteriorated, still proudly stands on the same D 117, a little further from the village. Built in the fifteenth century, he belonged to the Bellay family. Since 1984, a public and voluntary association has been working for its conservation and restoration. The work is not missing…
