LE PETIT PÉRIGORD
Restaurant with terrace featuring traditional cuisine and hamburgers
It has been more than twenty-five years since Pascal Garreau opened a restaurant in the Vieux-Laval that honours traditional cuisine (and possibly in Périgord when certain dishes, which vary with the seasons, evoke this very gastronomic region). To explain this lasting success, there is the charm of the two rooms, whose grey tones of the new curtains match well with all the furniture changed in 2013: the rustic beams on the ground floor and the vaults of the cellar (ideal place to receive groups); the kindness of the patron saint, Martine Garreau, but also - and above all - the quality of the gourmet dishes that fill the five menus (from the Market, 20 €, to Fascination, 35 €). You can enjoy a tasty foie gras terrine or a foie gras escalope that is just as tasty. The gourmet plate with four desserts is a highlight. The choice of wines is also excellent. Finally, let us mention a little something that makes all parents happy when they want to go there as a family: the dishes for pitchouns are different from those found elsewhere and allow them to choose between a starter, a main course and a dessert. No, but that's true, there's more than just hamburgers to serve to children! It should be noted that the restaurant has a terrace that could accommodate you on sunny days.
