NOTRE-DAME-DE-PRITZ
Church with numerous frescoes representing saints, the Virgin and her Son, and the tree of Jesse
You can discover it at the end of the Vieux-Saint-Louis street, before the bypass on the road leading to Changé. First mentioned in 710, abandoned for some time, it was rebuilt in the 11th century. Thus, the Carolingian remains intersect with the modifications of the Romanesque period and others even later. Above all, the richness of its decorations is simply breathtaking: the numerous frescoes depict saints, the Virgin and her son, as well as the tree of Jesse (a little erased by time), etc. The church also has a calendar of the seasons and representations of scenes from daily life, or the last six of the twenty-four elders of the Apocalypse still visible, out of the twenty-four that originally existed. A visit is in order..
