Since June 2006, at the initiative of the Friends of Vieux-Laval, at the bottom of the rue des Déportés, a plaque indicates to the passing and to the customers of the Mod'Elles Shop that a leading craftsman was born in this house at the beginning of the last century: Jean Bauer maker (1914-2004), who had his fine craft - taken up by his son Jacques - in Angers. For those that this life dedicated to beauty and music would interest, a book exists, published by the house laval Siloë in 2004: Jean Bauer, the spirit and the hand.
