In one of the beautiful houses in the Hilard district, the writer Simone Weil (La Condition et la Pesanteur…) lived children between October 1917 and January 1919, because his military father was transferred to Laval. On June 1, 2007, always anxious to honour the memory of those who distinguished themselves, the Friends of Old Laval threw a Plaque in memory of this writer for the least atypical because it has, among other things, always refused to publish any writing from her living (1909-1943).
