The ascent of the Pic de Mâles Ores is a hike from Castet-en-Ossau (altitude 1,728 metres, altitude difference 228 m) for a 2-hour walk, round trip. It is a summit with quick and easy access, with a characteristic karst relief with doline and lapiaz, starting from the pastoral refuge of l'Escala. It is also possible to walk through Le Moulie de Jaüt (altitude 2,050 m, altitude difference 550 m) which is a 2h30 round trip, short but with a beautiful ascent rather reserved for experienced hikers. Be careful, there are very steep final grassy slopes requiring good shoes and a walking stick! At the top, you will have in front of you a panorama of the Landes coast on the slopes of the Gers. A site accessible by snowshoes in the middle of winter to offer you a good breath of oxygen.
