THE CANDLE MILL
Water mill dating from the century, with a micro power station providing the mill's own energy.
In Castetis, a water mill dating from the Sixteenth century which is well hidden in a beautiful nature belonged to the Candau castle and has gone through centuries by crushing wheat for the local population until 1958. Fifty years later, it was completely renovated and has been grinding wheat again since 2008. A micro-hydorelectric plant was built to provide clean power to the mill. It is an opportunity for you to see this beautiful relic of a past during a visit. You will find of course the mill and its power plant but also a museum of old milling tools. Finally, if you wish you can walk along the creek until the mountain stream.
