DOMAINE LUCAS ET ANDRÉ RIEFFEL
Grandson of the founder of this estate, Lucas Rieffel makes some very fine wines. In love with his vines and as demanding in terms of cultivation as he is in terms of winemaking, he bases his work on respect for the grapes, which he treats in the most friendly way possible. The 10 ha estate has been certified organic since 2012. It owns plots on the Grands Crus Wiebelsberg in Andlau, Zotzenberg in Mittelbergheim and Kirchberg in Barr. Other parcels are located on remarkable "lieux-dits": the Gebreit from which the estate produces an excellent pinot blanc, the Runz for the pinot noir and the Brandluft for the riesling. These different terroirs allow the winemaker to make his ranges on a wide variety of soils. Manual work on the vines, vigour control, slow pressing and long maturing give birth to quality nectars: pinot blanc Gebreit 2017, pinot noir Kreuzel 2017, pinot gris Grand Cru Kirchberg La Colline aux Escargots 2017. Lucas Rieffel also vinifies very good crémants from Alsace: Brut, Extra Brut and Rosé.
