VINS D’ALSACE HIRTZ JEAN ET FILS
This large 9-hectare estate has been run by Edy and Elisabeth for about twenty years. They cultivate the seven Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat and Gewurztraminer as well as the Grand Cru de Zotzenberg. By ecological choice, we treat as little as possible and pick the grapes by hand. The vinification traditionally carried out by Edy gives time to the wines in maturation (6 to 12 months) before bottling. And this is reflected in the final product, which is simply divine and can be enjoyed after a visit to the farm. Not to be missed: the great wines of Zotzenberg which, due to their marl and limestone origin, are distinguished by their great finesse and exceptional body. These are wines that can be kept for a long time. Located on the south side of the Mittelbergheim hill, which rises to 320 metres, Zotzenberg is a basin exposed to the east and south, and enjoys a privileged amount of sunshine. Its terroir is only 36.45 hectares in size!
