CAVES AND CANYON
Caves and canyon offering the possibility to practice climbing and speleology, nature trail around the caves site
At the bend in the road, you will discover this amazing and unique site in the region, where the Saulges Caves are also located. From Saint-Pierre-sur-Erve to Ballée, the river Erve crosses a limestone plateau that it literally cuts through. Thus was formed this canyon that does not usurp its name. A bridge over the ford, which was already a passageway in Roman times, and a 13th century mill complete this landscape. The cave site also offers the possibility to practice climbing and caving. Around the site of the caves, a nature trail allows you to discover nature through its boxwood and juniper trees, to meet the fauna and flora of the site (45 min), a flora specific to this very limestone terrain. Themed workshops are offered to families (for children from 3 years old).
