Tourist information office in Beaumont-sur-Sarthe, a must to know everything about the wonders of this town.
Kilometres from Le Mans, to the north, this commune of medieval origin was called Beaumont-le-Vicomte before the Revolution. It stands majestically over the Sarthe River since the 9th century. From the old place, contested by the English and the counts of Alençon, there are still some remains of the castle. The streets of the old town will bring you to discover the old town halls, but also the Romanesque door dating from the 9th century. If you go down to Sarthe, you will have to admire the view of the Roman bridge or the Motte willow to Madame!
