MAISON NATALE DE CATHERINE PAYSAN
House transformed into a museum and allowing you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a 1950s classroom
The house-school where the writer Catherine Paysan was born has been transformed into a museum and allows us to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of a classroom in the 1950s. Indeed, Catherine Paysan was the daughter of the teacher. We discover the courtyard, the classroom, the staff quarters and the former office of the town hall secretariat which now houses 18 showcases presenting the life and works of the author of novels and short stories, autobiographical accounts and poems. A professor of literature, Catherine Paysan is a winner of the Prix des libraires, the Goncourt de la nouvelle, an officer of the Légion d'honneur, des arts et des lettres and a Chevalier de l'ordre national du Mérite (Knight of the National Order of Merit).
