The municipality exhibits a remaining piece of a Roman aqueduct that crossed Coulaines. The underground aqueduct of Les Fontenelles was 4 km long and was used to supply Roman buildings in Le Mans. Time has left a piece of concrete about 2 metres long and 1.50 metres high.
This portion of the old aqueduct is kept under glass in the park of the Maison des Chemins creux.
