THE LIGHTHOUSE OF CIBOURE
Neo-Labourdin lighthouse, dressed and raised by architect André Pavlovski in Ciboure / Ziburu.
Built in 1936 along with its twin, the Saint-Jean-de-Luz lighthouse, the Ciboure lighthouse, located on the Basque coastal path, was dressed and raised by architect André Pavlovsky. The lights are positioned so that boats returning to port can get a clear idea of the enfilade of the channel. The 2 lights (Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Ciboure) flash green at night, as they are starboard lights. The Ciboure light has a green stripe (starboard) and the Saint-Jean-de-Luz light has a red stripe (port).
