THE DOLMEN OF THE COVERED STONE
A remarkable dolmen located just a few metres from the Dué stream and close to the Pierrefiche menhir in Duneau.
It is located at the bottom of the valley, a few metres from the stream Le Dué, on the banks of the D74, towards Saint-Michel-de-Chavaignes, towards Luart from Connerré by the town hall (1.5 km). You can't miss it: the table, eight metres long by four metres wide, rests on five sandstone slabs. There are several megaliths to see. About 300 metres from this dolmen, there is also Pierrefiche's menhir or peulven, which measures three by two metres. Both are well indicated by road signs. For information, a dolmen consists of a slab that rests on feet, while the menhir is vertical (and represents a vault).
