HEADDRESS MUSEUM
This small museum has existed since 1960. Dedicated to sarthoises, he pays tribute to ancestral know-how that persisted in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe until 1930. It's 200 years in the history of the Sarthoise Hairdresser that are presented by the association's lingers "I fast." You'll find old photos and, above all, a very beautiful collection of 180 sarthoises presented on original marrots (wooden painted heads). Also temporary exhibitions on peasants, "Sunday" clothing, fashion evolution in Sarthe, etc. But what most pleasures visitors is undoubtedly the point demonstrations of lace to the spindles made before their eyes. It's about whitening, starving, shaping (mulching, piping…). A dozen volunteers were trained by Michèle Baudrier, of the Gouline Sarthoise, to the techniques of antique lingerie. And we regret the fact that no woman gets a haircut… On site, sale of the book on sarthoises, sewing dice, etc.
