C' À LA FERME
Based on the family farm, Céline and Éric Chevalier raise dairy cows, fed on locally-grown fodder, mainly grass, a little corn and cereals, all based on "reasoned" farming practices. Part of their milk is processed into fresh and mature cheeses, sold in the farm store, which also offers jams, jellies and chutneys concocted by Christine Jardin with produce from her orchard and vegetable garden in nearby Saint-Jean-d'Assé. It has to be said, too, that it's a family affair: Christine grew up on La Tournerie farm, and Christine and Céline are also sisters-in-law.
