ESPACE NATUREL SENSIBLE DES AJEUX

An area of unspoilt nature close to the town centre. Originally, the site was a wet meadow, there was no body of water. Then a quarry was exploited there for its clay and gravel until 2014. After this date, the exploitation work gave way to development work to promote the sustainability of the site's biodiversity while allowing it to be opened to the public. Observatories and duckboards facilitate discovery. Certain species present in these natural environments are very rare and are often the subject of a special classification at European, national, regional or departmental level. To date, 226 species of migratory, breeding and sedentary birds have been inventoried. The site is accessible to people with reduced mobility. 13 fishing spots have been developed. Marked trails with loops of 1.6 km, 3.8 km, 5.3 km, 5.7 km. As a bonus: you will discover wooden animal sculptures along the circuits.
