THE MILL OF THE HEATHER
The history of this mill dates back to 1096, when the Lord of St. Colombe, Hubert des Pouliers, granted the monks of the priory to build a mill and a lock on the Loir. In 1614, he was bought by the Lord of the Arrow, Guillaume Fouquet de la Varenne, then became a national property in 1813 before being abandoned in 1900. It has been restored and animated since 1994 by the association des Amis du Moulin de la Bruère. This set of buildings had a varied production of beating hemp, clover, beat the sheet, sawing wood or crushing the tan. It's the originality to still produce ice cream today.
