THE WHEAT MARKET THEATER
An Italian theater distinguished by its precious decor, elegant balconies and richly decorated artificial dome.
An absolutely wonderful place! The Petit Théâtre, an Italian-style theater inaugurated in 1839, was completely restored in 1999 and renamed the Théâtre de la Halle aux Blés. Of rare elegance, it is one of the last theaters of its type in France. With its precious decorations, it looks like a bonbonnière, with its elegant balconies supported by trompe-l'œil painted columns, and its richly decorated artificial dome. It's possible to come and visit it, but the must, of course, is to come and see a performance.
