Le Mans is famous for its 24 Hours, one of the world's most important endurance races.
This great endurance classic is no longer to be presented as it represents one of the major motor races in world motor sport. Since 1923, the race has been held on an equally famous circuit (home to the Bugatti circuit), some parts of which belong to automobile legend; the Hunaudières straight, the Dunlop bridge, the Tertre Rouge, Arnage and Mulsanne bends. We remind you that this event was imagined at the 1922 Motor Show, which was held at the Grand Palais in Paris. The idea was born during a meeting between Charles Faroux, journalist of La Vie Automobile, Georges Durand, Secretary General of the ACO, surrounded by some eminent members of the club, and Émile Coquille, representative in France of Rudge-Whitworth detachable wheels.
