HOTEL-GOD OF COËFFORT
Hôtel-dieu, designed to care for the sick and protect passing travelers, became a church with a light interior.
According to legend, it was built at the end of the 12th century by Henry II of Plantagenet, King of England, who wanted to atone for the murder of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Today the church, the building was originally intended for the care of the sick, the reception and protection of travellers passing through. Austere and massive on the outside, the building will surprise you with its light interior (thin columns...). A fine example of "Plantagenêt" architecture.
