ROUTE DU GRAND PRIX DE L'AUTOMOBILE CLUB DE FRANCE
Today, you can retake most of the 100 km of the historic route of the first grand prix of the Automobile Club de France of 1906, passing through the forks of Auvours, Bouloire, Saint-Calais, Vibraye, Cherré-Au and Montfort-le-Gesnois. This tourist route is lined with 12 commemorative totem poles. A discovery booklet is available at the tourist offices to accompany you on this route.
Find the totems at : Montfort-le-Gesnois/Soulitré (Parc des Sittelles), Saint-Mars-la-Brière (rue de Paris), Ardenay-sur-Mérize (chemin du Baron Pierre de Caters), Bouloire (rue Nationale), Saint-Calais (avenue du Moulin-Ars), Berfay (opposite the church), Vibraye (between the D1 and rue de la Petite-Vitesse), Lamnay (rue Principale), Cherré-Au (rue François-Avice), Sceaux-sur-Huisne (D323, near the town hall), Connerré (rue de Paris) and in Villaines-la-Gonais (rest area RD323).
