Medieval castle on a hill overlooking Montmirail, meeting place of Henry II Plantagenet and Louis VII the Younger in 1169

This impressive medieval fortress is a testimony of several centuries of architecture. In the 18th century, the Princess de Conti, daughter of Louis XIV and Miss de La Vallière, restored this 15th century medieval fortress and transformed it into an elegant residence with refined salons with remarkable woodwork and Regency furniture. From the terrace of the park, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Perche Sarthois. It is possible to stay in one of the five guest rooms of the castle. Breakfast is served in the old kitchens recently renovated and decorated with period brassware. It is possible to stay in one of the five guest rooms of the castle.

Autour du château le 02/12/23, organisée par "Le Perche-Sarthois" : chasse au trésor nocturne à la fois ludique et culturelle (pour tous les âges) dans les rues et locaux historiques de la Petite Cité de Caractère. Merci aux organisateurs, animatrices et bénévoles pour ce moment de partage.

Monsieur Jacques-Henry Jacquart, le propriétaire des lieux n’a pas de Polaroïd et malheureusement le passage secret dans la chambre de Godefroy le Hardi a été condamnée. A part ça un château magnifique même si les torpichiers ne se décollent pas du mûr…

Nous avons appelé le matin pour savoir si le château était bien ouvert. Nous avons confirmation que oui. Arrivé à 14h40 pour prendre les billets, on nous dit que aujourd'hui c'est une journée avec visite animée par deux hôtesses. Elle avait donc commencé à 14h30. On nous a alors demandé si l'on voulait rattraper sachant que la prochaine visite était à 16h30 et que nous avons du faire une heure de route. Pas le choix, nous acceptons avec un tarif légèrement plus élevé qu'une visite normal. N'aurait on pas pu nous le préciser par téléphone ? Nous restons un peu sur notre fin après n'avoir visité que 4 malheureuses pièces. Merci quand même aux 2 jeunes hôtesses qui ont fait de leurs mieux pour nous montrer cet agréable château.
