CENTRE OF PARCHMENT AND ILLUMINATION

Époux Époux, specialists in parchment manufacturing according to the methods of the Middle Ages, proudly animate the centre of the Scroll and the Enluminure. In the old carmel of Vaujoubert, 250 m ² divided into several rooms gives the story and realization of the first books in the pure style of the incunables: preparation of skins (goat or sheep soaked in lime), manufacture of inks and colours only from natural elements. In the scriptorium, the techniques of calligraphie, enluminure, application of gold sheets and binder binding can be initiated. Jean-Pierre and Anne-Marie will be happy to share the love of their profession and to unveil their illuminations collection, related books and rolls in the bookstore. A place of discovery and information in Europe that has the task of transmitting this exceptional heritage. Various workshops are proposed. The parchment is not dead, the parchment is alive!
