Orthodox monastery founded in 1990 by Father Symeon with the blessing of his spiritual father and that of the archimandrite.
A place of silence that welcomes those who wish to take a break, this Orthodox monastery founded in 1990 is located less than a kilometre from the town centre towards the Grand-Lucé. Father Syméon, a priest from the Parisian parish of Notre-Dame-Joie-des-Affligés, founded Saint-Silouane Monastery with the blessing of his spiritual father and that of Archimandrite Sophrony, a disciple of Saint Silouane. The community then consisted of the founder and two novices. Inhabited by nuns and monks under the jurisdiction of the Russian Church, the old buildings, an old abandoned farm, were totally rehabilitated by the religious to make it a real monastery with chapel, cells, refectory, garden and communal areas. A haven of peace that offers stays all year round. Fifteen individual rooms are available for people wishing to meditate or in spiritual quest.
