Gastronomic events, street parades, Basque dancing and concerts will liven up the town of Espelette for a whole weekend.

The Espelette chilli festival kicks off on Saturday with gastronomic events. A drum parade livens up the streets, as do Basque dances in the fronton. In the evening, the festivities continue with a typical aperitif dinner in all the restaurants, followed by a concert with a male choir. Sunday sees the blessing of the chillies, followed by the enthronement ceremony behind the castle. An unmissable festival that attracts more and more people every year!
