GROTTO CASTLE

Château de la Groirie is private all year round, and is reserved for receptions and seminars, except during the Journées du Patrimoine, when it opens its doors. Considered one of the most beautiful châteaux in the Sarthe, it borders gardens that are always accessible. Situated on the road from Le Mans to Laval, this old Sarthe residence is a fine example of the design of a country house. It wasn't until the ^17th and ^18th centuries that La Groirie became a pleasure home, and was no longer considered a mere landed property, thanks to the work of its owners at the time. The château nestles in the heart of a 100-hectare park open to visitors. In one of the building's wings, you can also enjoy the Hôtel de la Groirie, offering 14 different rooms with large, modern, comfortable bathrooms. It's well worth the detour, just a few kilometers from Le Mans.
