Located in the south of Sarthe, Notre-Dame-du-Oak is the most important pilgrimage place in the diocese with some 70 000 visitors per year. It was at the end of the th century that the priest of the village of Vion placed a statue of the Virgin Mary in an old oak. Legend wants a century later, after a wave of pilgrimage, the Virgin Mary appeared… The paintings of the choir of the basilica retrace this story. Moreover, you can admire in the nearby park a replica of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
