Military defense tower, political prison or granary, built in 1435 by the lords of the fief of Talmont.
Angles is a charming village at the mouth of the Lay River, with monuments steeped in history and legend. Proud and imposing, the Tour de Moricq keeps watch over Angles, surrounded by machicolations and other watchtowers. Was it a military defense tower, a political prison or simply a granary? All of the above. In fact, a thick mystery hangs over this tower, listed as a historic monument since 1908. It was built in 1435 by the lords of the Talmont fiefdom. It is currently being renovated. Guided tours in July and August.
