THE BARON PARK
A park in Fontenay-le-Comte, inviting you to take a stroll and discover feudal remains and urban fortifications.
The 3-hectare park occupies the site of the former seigniorial fortress, and invites you to take a stroll under the chestnut and lime trees planted in the castle moat. You'll come across a Himalayan cedar, a tulip tree and a ginkgo biloba. A number of feudal remains and urban fortifications can also be seen, including the astonishing Tour de la Boulaye (1590). In the middle of the park, children can enjoy the "Donjon des Cimes" ("Parcabout") for sensations several meters high, without harnesses or attachment systems.
