THE PRAYER

A priory steeped in history, renowned for its beautiful fireplaces and wooden staircase, now houses the town hall.
Another building to see: the priory. Located next to the church, it is accessed through a large portal Louis XIII, rue Sainte-Catherine. Built from the 11th century, it depended on the abbey of Bourgueil in Touraine, to which Guillaume Fier à Bras and his wife Emma had made a cession. Observe the facades and roofs of the former priorate dwelling and the vaulted porch that crosses it. Inside, beautiful fireplaces and a 17th century wooden staircase. The priory houses the town hall, after having housed monks until the Revolution.
