Stud farm founded in 1843 with a cultural, heritage and tourist centre linked to the horse, equestrian demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy
Built in 1843, the stud farm covers more than 4.5 hectares in the heart of La Roche-sur-Yon. Designed by the architect Malet, it is distinguished by two buildings of reference, all in an English garden, a real green lung in the heart of the prefecture. The stud farm is home to a cultural, heritage and tourist center linked to the horse. You can discover the know-how of saddlers and farriers. You can attend work sessions and observe the different stages of creation of an equestrian act. The guided tour allows you to see horses, donkeys or ponies as well as the mares. In July-August, you will have fun with your family with the program: equestrian demonstrations, interactive educational workshops for adults and children, equestrian story for children (4-10 years), always for children, visits in costume. You will also experience the main stages of a pony's day at the Haras, the carriage rides. As a family, take advantage of the autonomous tours with adventure books and question boxes, in which the children will follow Martin and Laura in their discovery of the Haras. A must-see is the summer show À cheval sur le temps, from July1 to August 31, which will transport you to the great history of the horse through the ages, in a multitude of equestrian scenes in costumes and music, high school, pirouettes, jumps and voltiges. Between humor and emotion, we let ourselves embark on a journey to discover the horse. The gardens are accessible free of charge outside the Haras' opening periods.
