THE MILL ELECTED
The Moulin à Élise in Le Poiré-sur-Vie, one of the last mills still in operation, built from glulam pine.
Built in 1867 in a green setting, this water mill is powered by a paddlewheel, the original feature of which is that it is made of glulam cryptogylated pine by the Compagnons du Tour de France. This wheel, the only one of its kind in Europe, has a diameter of 5.20 m and is equipped with 40 curved blades. One of the last water mills still in operation. Starting point for hiking trails and infrastructure: children's playground, petanque area, fitness trail, orienteering course, picnic areas and 1.3 ha fishing lake.
