THE MILLS OF LARK MOUNTAIN
A 232-meter-high mill in Les Herbiers, with panoramic views over the Vendée bocage.
Of the eight mills built in the 16th century, and which in 1793 (by the position of their wings) served as optical telegraphs for the armies of the Vendée, 5 were destroyed during the First World War, but two mills remain, one of which is still in working order! Peaking at an altitude of 232 m, enjoy the unique panorama over the bocage of the Vendée! Also worth seeing is the chapel commemorating the Vendée War, built in 1825-1830 by the Duchess of Angoulême, daughter of Louis XVI.
