The history of Lucs-sur-Boulogne is marked by the massacre of its population... Located in the immediate vicinity of the Historial de la Vendée, the Vendée Memorial invites you to make a pilgrimage to this place, witness to a page both tragic and luminous in our history. Built in memory of the martyrs of the Vendée War and inaugurated in 1993 by Alexandre Soljenitsyne, it commemorates the massacre of 564 villagers by the infernal columns of General Turreau in February 1794. On leaving the Memorial, the Memory Trail leads to the Petit Luc memorial chapel.
