STONE-BUILT CASTLE
18th century castle, historical monument, built on a high place of prehistory by Luc Pezot to lead a princely life
Built on a high place of prehistory, Pierre-Levée owes its name to the 2 menhirs nearby. The castle was built in the 18th century by Luc Pezot. He was in turn one of the great moneymen of the city, shipowner, alderman and collector of the sizes. In 1770, he decided to build a country house at a place called "La Pierre Levée". Inspired by the lines of the Petit Trianon in Versailles, the ambitious Luc Pezot built a castle of royal proportions to lead a princely life. The castle is listed as a historical monument.
