Lighthouse built between 1857 and 1861, the first in France to be automated and which was designed to signal the entrance of the port.

2 km from La Chaume, it was built between 1857 and 1861 on the rocky plateau of Grandes Barges and restored in 1989. It was the first lighthouse in France to be automated in 1970. It consists of a basement cellar, a kitchen on the1st floor, 3 bedrooms on the2nd and3rd floors, a watchroom on the4th floor and the optical system. Made of blue Avrillé granite, the tower is 24.81 m high and 12 m in diameter at the base, with a light range of 15 miles by day, 17 miles by night. Designed to signal the entrance of the harbour, it became a lighthouse of danger after the construction of the Armandèche lighthouse.

located 2 miles from the coast, with its dangerous rocks for sailing, it is pleasant to approach by the sea: from the port of fishing, every day, a sea is offered, and this walk maritime very pleasant and commented on
