A small lighthouse known as "the little tower of Pisa", used by sailors to enter the harbour channel.

The station has several lighthouses. The lighthouse of the small pier was built from 1768 to 1780 on the orders of the engineer Lamandé in order to protect the port from silting. It is used by sailors to enter the harbour channel. It is a granite construction from the end of the 19th century. In 1944, the German troops blew up the small jetty, which caused the dike to crack and the sand, on which the base of the lighthouse rests, to escape. Its leaning structure has led to its nickname "the little tower of Pisa".

Le Phare de la Petite Jetée aux Sables-d'Olonne
Lorsque l'on aperçoit le Phare de la Petite Jetée aux Sables d'Olonne, on ne peut s'empêcher d'être surpris car il penche vraiment ! Cela se voit bien, selon moi, depuis la promenade sur le quai du Phare de la Grande Jetée, dans le quartier de la Chaume.

Situé au départ de la plage des Sables , il se trouve au bout du chenal pour l'entrée des bateaux de plaisance comme de pêche sur les sables
sur ce chenal vous rencontrez sans doute des pêcheurs à ligne
le phare vert penche toujours autant, la vue sur la mer laisse envisager des ailleurs lointains, une pêche probable, et une belle vue sur la baie des sables
