TOUR D'ARUNDEL & CHATEAU ST-CLAIR
The tower, with a superb panorama serving as a fortification of the castle, built by the princes of Talmont, houses the Sea Museum.
In 1622, Soubise, a Protestant chieftain, seized the castle built by the princes of Talmont in the 15th century and had fortifications built there. Garrison under Louis XIII, bombed in 1796 by the Anglo-Dutch, bought by the State in 1835, restored, the castle houses the Museum of the Sea. When you reach the top of the tower you will discover the superb panoramic view and the 1911 orientation table. The first fire dates back to 1593. In the XVIIth century, the fire of the Chaume is the only lighthouse of Vendée.

En redescendant il y a une autre visite sympathique à faire en visitant le petit musée sur la pêche au bas de la tour, il s'y dégage une ambiance relative à la navigation en mer d'autrefois avec tous les ustensiles anciens
