THE WEARING OF THE GRINDSTONE
A must-see place on the island of Yeu, the small port of caseyeurs which testifies to the richness of the seabed in shellfish.
First natural jewel of the island, a real cove embedded between two cliffs covered with moorland, it is a place not to be missed on the island. This small port of caseyeurs testifies to the richness of the seabed in crustaceans on the edge of the island. On the heights of this picturesque little port, there is a lovely chapel with white walls and a blue door. The Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Nouvelle chapel, erected in the 11th century, was dedicated to the Virgin, protector of sailors. Sailors still come on pilgrimage to the chapel on Easter Monday and August 15th.
