With its 80 km, the Lay is the longest river in Vendée. From a width of 25 to 30 m for a depth of 3 to 4 m, it is a quiet river interspersed with small dikes. The best and most accessible parts are on the Lower Lay - there are also pontoons accessible for disabled people. Among the fish that inhabit Lay: gardons, reeds, brèmes, ablettes and carp.
