CHURCH OF ST. CHRISTOPHER
Between the Herbiers and Saint-Fulgent, the ancient church of Saint-Christophe, whose construction dates back to the eleventh century, now offers a true treasure of medieval art. Indeed, magnificent wall paintings dating back to the thirteenth century were discovered by chance in the choir in 1950. These were definitively released and restored in 1990. They are currently one of the finest examples of Gothic religious decoration in western France. Religious interest is of a secular interest, with a rare set of colored arms of the large poitevine families of the medieval era.
