NESMY CASTLE PARK
A park with a hydraulic complex of 5 ponds, a belt of precious trees and a remarkable château at Nesmy.
The park of Château de Nesmy is a 47-hectare site protected as a Historic Monument. It was designed in 1842 by André Leroy, a landscape gardener from Anjou, on the remains of an 11th-century estate. It includes an English-style botanical garden and a hydraulic complex of 5 ponds. Surrounded by a belt of precious trees, it forms an ensemble characteristic of 19th-century landscape parks. As for the château, it has the appearance of a typical 18th-century Vendée dwelling, built on a terrace that dates back to the 16th century.
