A small cove dominated by the Tour Plantier, the first resort building in Bois de la Chaise, Noirmoutier.

The island of Noirmoutier has many beaches with authentic charm, and Anse Rouge is one of them. It's a small cove with Plage des Dames to its right. It is dominated by the lighthouse-like Tour Plantier. A private property built in 1861 for Frédéric Plantier, a Noirmoutier doctor, by his brother, a Ponts et Chaussées engineer who designed several lighthouses on the Vendée islands, it was the first resort building in the Bois de La Chaize. Its design, in stone and brick, and its shape are atypical.

Plage de l'Anse Rouge et Tour Plantier 85330 Noirmoutier-En-L'Ile
La Plage de l'Anse Rouge est une plage, ou plutôt une crique intimiste au sable fin. On y accède par un escalier assez raide. En surplomb de cette plage, diverses maisons dont la Tour Plantier qui semble veiller, tel le phare qu'il n'est pas puisqu'il s'agit d'une demeure privée extérieurement plutôt curieuse, mais harmonieuse. A voir !
