State-owned forest located between Fromentine and Sion-sur-l'Océan, unfurls its vegetation at the edge of the dune
Between Fromentine and Sion-sur-l'Océan, with 2,000 hectares, the state forest of Pays de Monts spreads its vegetation at the edge of the dune. Planted with maritime pines more than a century ago, the forest has been enriched with holm oaks, maples, locust trees and other species. Walkers or cyclists can explore the quiet, shady forest paths to discover the flora and fauna. Hidden in the heart of the forest, the panoramic view of the forest and the marsh below can be approached by those brave enough to take the path of the Vigie.
