This basilica built on the ancient parish church of the eleventh century, is recognized as a place of pilgrimage
Built on the former 11th century parish church, its foundation stone was laid in 1889. Crypt, apse, transept and bell tower were completed in 1892. The nave was finished in 1949. The statue on the central façade was created by the sculptor Fernand Dupré. To see: the sculpture (1888) of Montfort dying and the tombstone of Father de Montfort (1716). The building was consecrated on 25 August 1963, erected as a minor basilica, and thus recognised as a place of pilgrimage.
