ANDRE DELUOL MUSEUM
Museum dedicated to André Deluol in Saint-Michel-en-l'Herm, presenting works carved in stone, marble or walnut
This museum houses over 150 works by André Deluol (1909-2003). This sculptor, Chevalier des Arts et Lettres, whose favorite theme was the human body, had deep roots in the Vendée region, where he had lived since 1998, hence this museum dedicated entirely to him. More than 150 works carved directly from stone, marble or walnut are on display. These works were created between 1929 and 1995. His other works are on show at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris, as well as in Nîmes, Poitiers, Amsterdam and Algiers.
